Reaching Communities

QPCO started off as a grass roots, volunteer-led organisation. We retain strong links with many of the communities in Bedford that came together to create the orchard in Queen’s Park, and have built further links with diverse communities across Bedford.  We now offer a bespoke service for organisations and groups seeking to reach and engage certain sections of Bedford communities. These commissioned pieces of work help us to fund our capacity building work which focuses on supporting groups in the community to become empowered and self-sufficient.

So far we have worked with:

Covid-19 & Health Inequalities helping Public Health to reach over 900 Bedford residents.

We delivered a survey for Healthwatch Bedford Borough to reach women from the Bengali and Bulgarian communities of Bedford and obtain feedback on barriers to accessing services. This helped to write the Denny review (A review of health inequalities in Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes) which was published in September 2023. We are always interested in listening to any proposal. If you think we could help you reach your target community in Bedford, get in touch with us for an initial conversation.
