We wanted to pay tribute to Sarah Cox who passed away from cancer last December. We met Sarah in the early 90s when she started working at Bedfordshire on Sunday. Our first meeting was at the Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Queen’s Park. We introduce her to the area including the orchard. She immediately understood our concept and became a big supporter of our organisation. It was a great partnership, if she needed information or contacts, she always came to speak to us. She wrote many articles about our events. She was a pioneer and started the local Heroes Award in Bedford. When Bedfordshire on Sunday closed, she joined us as a volunteer, helping us with the communication side of the organisation. She also joined our phone team during the covid 19 pandemic where she would make phone calls to take food parcel orders from families/ individuals in need. Even when Sarah moved away, we kept in touch, and she was always about if we needed help! Sarah had a certain ‘joie de vivre’ which was infectious, you could not stay unhappy for long alongside her. We will miss you, Sarah! May your soul rest in peace🙏!
