Saturday 1st November 2025 was a day of togetherness for the Upenyu Nerwamagwana Community, as we gathered to celebrate good food and community spirit through our Slow Cooking Session.
From sharing local recipe ideas to discovering new ways to make traditional ingredients go further, the event highlighted the creativity and resilience within the community. It was a true celebration of food as a bridge — connecting generations, neighbours, and cultures.
Each participant went home with a free slow cooker and ingredients pack, ready to continue cooking nutritious meals for their families.
We’re deeply thankful to Cadent and the Bedfordshire and Luton Community Foundation for supporting this project, and to the Upenyu Nerwamagwana Community for showing how strong and inspiring local action can be.
