Khush Haal Women’s Group-

Slow Cooking Session with Food Etc – Bedford July 2025

In July 2025, we were delighted to deliver one of our first Slow Cooking Sessions with the Khush Haal ladies group, held in partnership with Food Etc.

The session focused on the practical benefits of using a slow cooker — including how it can support affordable, energy-efficient, and healthy home cooking. Participants learned useful tips on meal planning, budgeting, and reducing food waste, while also taking part in a guided tasting session featuring a selection of slow-cooked dishes, such as our popular slow-cooked banana cake.

Each participant received a free slow cooker and ingredients to take home, enabling them to immediately apply what they had learned and continue preparing nutritious, cost-effective meals for their families.

This initiative was proudly funded by Cadent and managed by the Bedfordshire and Luton Community Foundation, with delivery support from Food Etc. We are grateful for this partnership, which allows us to promote practical, sustainable cooking skills and improve access to affordable, healthy food options within the community.
