Carbon Monoxide Awareness Session – June 14

On Saturday, June 14th, we were proud to host a Carbon Monoxide (CO) Awareness Session that brought together members of the Bedford community for an important conversation about home safety and energy efficiency.

Organised to raise awareness about the dangers of carbon monoxide – often called the silent killer – the event equipped attendees with the knowledge and tools to help protect their households.

Highlights from the Event:

  • Free CO monitors were distributed to attendees, helping families stay safe at home.
  • ✅ Participants learned essential tips for detecting and preventing CO leaks.
  • ✅ The session also covered practical energy-saving advice to help reduce energy bills and lower carbon footprints.

We’re incredibly grateful to the Bedford Hindu Temple for hosting the session, and to Cadent and the Bedfordshire and Luton Community Foundation for their generous funding and support. A special thank you also goes out to all the volunteers who gave their time to make the event a success.

This session was a wonderful example of what we can achieve when we come together as a community. Let’s keep the momentum going as we work towards building a safer, healthier Bedford.
