On Monday 9th February 2026, QPCO was proud to deliver a Carbon Monoxide (CO) Awareness workshop with ILearn Bedford, with Sue Ryder Bedford also joining us for the session. Bringing partners together like this strengthens the support available to local communities and helps vital safety messages reach more people.
The workshop focused on:
What carbon monoxide is and why it’s so dangerous
Recognising the symptoms of CO poisoning
Simple, practical steps to stay safe at home
As part of the session, we shared clear guidance on CO alarm use, including correct placement and testing, alongside safety information that participants can take home and share with others.
This session forms part of our Cadent-funded Carbon Monoxide Awareness Project, which is all about ensuring life-saving information reaches diverse communities who may otherwise face barriers to accessing safety advice. As a local charity, QPCO plays a crucial role in delivering these workshops in trusted, community based settings. Making sure no one is left behind when it comes to home safety.
Carbon monoxide is often called the silent killer, and sessions like this show just how important it is for charities like QPCO to be out in the community, building awareness, confidence and connections that help keep people safe.
