The youth group from Bedford Academy are delivering a social action project which aims and objectives is to tackle loneliness in their local community.
Lots of fun game, stalls, food and music at the annual Kenyan BBQ! Come and celebrate with the community.
The group is open to all women. We aim to deliver different activities. Every month, check out this page to see what is on! Note that the the trip to the Eco mosque is fully booked.
We are delighted to support LOWD (Legacy of Windrush Descendants) in their Legacy 75 project. Come and join us in the celebration!
We are delighted to announce that we will be gifting the ceremonial planting pot that contained the tree that was awarded to QPCO as part of the Platinum Jubilee Queenβs Canopy project, to the Higgins museum on Saturday 10th June at 11am.
Please share the poster attached widely!
We feel that the tree and pot awarded by the Platinum Jubilee Queenβs Green Canopy project to QPCO also recognise the many communities in Bedford that came together to create the Charity. So, as well as planting the tree where the public could see it, we wanted the pot to go somewhere it can be viewed by the public. We decided the best place to preserve this piece of Bedford history was the Higgins Museum.
Everyone is invited to join us for this presentation. This will be followed by activities for #GreatBigGreenWeek, which is the UKβs biggest ever celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature. A host of free events aimed at helping you to connect with nature at the heart of Bedford will be delivered by the Higgins Museum with community plant stalls, garden tours, foraging walks and creative activities.
This ceremony and the display of the Ceremonial Planting Pot is also an opportunity to learn about the work that QPCO have been doing with the Green Canopy in Bedford. QPCO will be also giving out herb plants at our stall, for people to plant in their gardens.
We look forward to seeing on Saturday.
Join our community and connect with us on our other social media channels to stay in the loop with our latest news, events, and stories from people just like you - because everyone is welcome here!

What an incredible start to our new youth programme! π±β¨
At our very first session, our fantastic group of young people took the lead. They shared their brilliant ideas on what activities they want to do and let us know exactly when they are available to meet.
Co-designing this programme with them means every session is going to be shaped by their voices and interests. We are so excited for what is coming next!
This project is proudly funded by the Frank Branston Fund and managed by Bedfordshire and Luton Community Foundation
Keep an eye out for updates on our upcoming activities.

π§οΈβ A Wonderful Afternoon of Connection and creativity at the welcome space today!βπ§οΈ
Despite the horrible rain, we came together and turned a grey day into a positive and uplifting one! π
Our attendees enjoyed some gentle seated exercise, followed by warm conversations over freshly made Indian tea. β We also got creative making umbrellas and welly boots, which certainly helped boost our mood and gave us plenty of reasons to smile! βοΈπ¨
As we reflected on the day, one thing stood out β coming together really does make a positive difference. Even the rain couldnβt dampen our spirits! π
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came along, joined in, shared conversations, got creative and helped make the afternoon so special. Your presence and positivity made it all worthwhile. β€οΈ
