Timor Leste Community Bedford

The Timor-Leste community was proud to raise its flag over Bedford, bringing together different communities to celebrate mutual respect and understanding on Wednesday 20th May 2026. Thank you to everyone who attended the Timor-Leste Independence Day Flag Raising Ceremony at the Harpur Square. We were honoured to have the presence of Dr Robert Oakley OBE, Deputy Lieutenant, Mr Ismail Anilmis, High sheriff of Befordshire & DL and the Mayor of Bedford. A big thank you to our staff, volunteers, and friends who came to support the event, PBIC Bedford, the harpur trust and the Bedford Hindu temple.
